BICSI – 1 CEC
Managing link loss is the most fundamental aspect of network performance. Understanding loss contributors is the first step in effectively operating well within loss budgets. This session looks at the elements that comprise link loss and how they can be more effectively managed in setting a balanced set of performance requirements. Then we cover splice losses and discuss how splice performance can be impacted by core and cladding mismatches, and how that plays into setting reasonable, yet effective splice loss limits.
