Senior Vice President - Network Systems
Lynn Cox is Senior Vice President – Network Systems for Verizon’s Network & Technology organization. She was appointed to this role in November 2017. Her responsibilities include the planning, design and operation of Verizon’s OSS and BSS portfolio. This includes supporting new technology deployment, like iEN, 1F, 5G and SDN, ensuring the field teams can design, install and maintain the infrastructure and provision services onto the network. Additionally, Lynn is responsible for all ordering and provisioning systems across Verizon’s LOBs, including VES, VCM, VPS and VzW.
Before Lynn’s current role, she was Vice President – Network Engineering & Operations, responsible for network planning, engineering, construction, performance and maintenance of Verizon Wireless’s voice and data networks in the northeast and Great Lakes markets. She managed an annual capital program of approximately $3B. Her deliverables include deployment of new coverage and capacity solutions, network reliability, and technology migrations.
Prior to that, Cox was Vice President – Network Field Operations, responsible for the central office, technical facility, special service, and CPE field operations across the 42 US states and 22 countries, as well as national Federal field operations. She led a team of 4,500 management and associate employees who supported wholesale, retail, enterprise and government customers. Her focus was on the provisioning and maintenance of Verizon’s Wireline network, including construction and splicing functions for the enterprise backbone. In this capacity, she also led the execution of NFO’s Anytech, Anywork, Anywhere strategy.
Throughout her career at Verizon, Cox held multiple management positions in the Network group, including Executive Director – Engineering and Executive Director of Program Management at Verizon Telecom, Director of Verizon Communications.
In 2005, she was recognized for her contributions to the Verizon Wireless Migration Team and to the Wholesale LOB and received Verizon Excellence Awards for these initiatives.
Cox holds an MBA degree from Rutgers University and a bachelor’s in Business Administration from James Madison University.
